Davidson County

Stop leaving Davidson County to find Saturday.

One neighborhood. One planned stop. One loose one. You do not need a regional expedition.

Quick answer

Pick the neighborhood first. Pair a park or coffee with one museum, shop, or meal. Rain? Frist or the State Museum.

The plan

If this is you

You live in Nashville. The group chat keeps proposing Franklin. Or downtown as a last resort. You want a Saturday that stays in Davidson County. One neighborhood. Room to walk. A plan you can finish without crossing the county line twice.

Start here

Begin at Centennial Park (2500 West End Ave). The Parthenon, a one-mile loop, lawn before the middle of town fills. You can still be in 12 South or Germantown by late morning.

East side: Shelby Bottoms Nature Center (1900 Davidson St). Paved greenway. Easy to keep moving.

West side: Warner Parks. Woods without leaving the county.

The reason you drove

This weekend: Tennessee Craft Fall Fair on the Centennial Park lawn, Friday, October 9 (10am to 6pm), Saturday, October 10 (10am to 6pm), and Sunday, October 11 (10am to 4pm), 2026. Free. Artists on site. (Fall Fair details)

Later this month: Nashville Farmers' Market Fall Ball, Y'all, Saturday, October 24, 2026, 10am to 2pm, 900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. Free. Live music, kids' zone, fall produce. (Fall Ball details)

Any other Saturday: Pick one neighborhood and let it carry the day. East Nashville: coffee, then Gift Horse or a walk at Shelby Park. Germantown: the Tennessee State Museum, then lunch. 8th Avenue: 8th & Roast, then a short walk. Green Hills: Parnassus.

When the plan breaks

Fair packed: Shift to Shelby Bottoms or Warner Parks. Leave the lawn to the fair.

Soft rain: Frist Art Museum, Tennessee State Museum, Parnassus, or Adventure Science Center with kids. Central Library if you need a free indoor reset.

East-only day: Shelby Bottoms or Shelby Park, then a meal in East Nashville or Donelson. Long Hunter State Park if you want the lake without leaving the county's east edge.

West-only day: Warner Parks or Cheekwood. Leave the Centennial lots to someone else.
